A comprehensive examination which includes the visual and tactile inspection of your teeth, gums and all the soft tissues of your head and neck, including your throat. It may also involve some radiographic imaging, too. How often you have your examination is dependent on your oral condition, living habits, general health, and age, but it is often recommended to come every 6 months – 1 year.
We will try to provide our patients and to the best of our ability the wider public who need our help in an oral emergency within 24 hours during practice opening hours. Dental Emergencies include, but are not limited to; toothache, cracked teeth, lost fillings, swelling, infections and abscesses.
Oral Health maintenance is almost impossible without the help of a dental hygienist. Most people, regardless of their ability in self care, need to see a dental hygienist periodically in order to have areas beyond the reach of normal brushing checked and cleaned as well as their oral hygiene technique reviewed and updated. We recommend seeing a hygienist every 4-6 months to keep up to date with your gum health.
Performed as an add-on by our hygienist, air polishing is a non-invasive and very rewarding procedure that removes food and drink stains that are not shifted by teeth brushing, and brings back the sparkle to your teeth. Talk to your hygienist about adding air polishing to your next appointment.
There are many different options for fillings available, from classic tried-and-tested silver amalgam fillings, to state of the art white composite fillings that perfectly match the shade of your natural teeth. We provide our patients with the best options for all budgets and preferences, to provide long lasting restoration for damaged teeth.
Years ago, teeth with diseased or injured pulp were removed. Today, root canal treatment has given dentists a safe way of saving teeth. The pulp is the soft tissue that contains the nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue. It lies within the tooth and extends from the crown of the tooth to the tip of the root in the bone of the jaw. The most common cause of pulp death is a deep cavity of a cracked tooth. Both of these problems can let germs (bacteria) enter the pulp which can cause an infection in the tooth.
Crown and Bridge materials have evolved significantly in recent years, especially from the aesthetic point of view. There are almost no limits to the adaptability of modern techniques and materials in meeting patients’ ideals. We work with laboratories, hand picked by our experienced dentists, who produce the highest standard of work for our patients.
A crown is a tooth-shaped cap that provides stability and structure to a tooth that has been heavily damaged, or treated for decay or infections.
Bridges are a way of filling a gap between teeth by providing crowns which literally ‘bridge the gap’ between missing teeth.
Dental implants are the most robust and long-lasting form of tooth replacement. Whether you need to have a single tooth replaced, or all of them we can help you with whatever needs you have. Coffee, tea, red wine, curries, and many more day-to-day food and drinks can actually cause tough and stubborn staining which takes away from your natural sparkle. Using a medically prescribed hydrogen peroxide formula, you can whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home.
